I originally posted this movie for the Indie Movie meetup, but now that we have the new Horror meetup going as well, I thought some of you might be interested!

The movie starts at 9:30, but please plan to be there by 9:15 so we can get in and get seated. If you're interested in meeting up beforehand, email me. You can also buy tickets in advance (until Tues) on the IndieFest website. Click on the movie title.

I've been told this is a super scary movie, that you DO NOT want to see alone. It's one of those "found footage" type films, in the vein of Blair Witch or Cloverfield. It''s generated a lot of buzz at recent festivals, and appears to have been picked up by Dreamworks.

Here's the description from IndieFest:

Paranormal Activity is a terrifying supernatural thriller about a couple whose home is invaded by an unknown entity.

Katie and Micah have been enjoying a happy, carefree life in their home. Katie was studying to be a teacher and Micah was a successful stock trader. Their future looked promising until bizarre events started occurring at nighttime.

Katie was no stranger to paranormal phenomena ? she has been stalked by a shadowy figure since childhood, and it appears that it has followed her to their new home. Micah decides to purchase a video camera to find out what happens as they sleep.

Over the course of three weeks in September & October of 2006, they ran nightly surveillance and captured indelible proof on home video, which has been edited into the feature film Paranormal Activity.

"Watching Paranormal Activity scared me so much I had to sleep with the lights on for the next three nights. Even to this day, as I climb into bed, some part of me wonders if I will awaken in the middle of my slumber to find a shadowy figure hovering at the foot of my bed." - Dylan Haggerty, Slamdance
